My man Wale and I go all the way back to college days at Morehouse when were both part of the house band for the Underground Live open mics on campus. Not only has he been a good friend, but over the years I've been a fan of his transitions and evolutions in life from musician and artist, to lawyer, to husband, to esquire man, to father, to fashion designer. Back when he was wearing his producer hat and was an official artist on the Shaman Works Recordings roster, I went through his beat catalog and began playing around with different blends. During that time I came up with the idea of putting together a compilation of blends that I created using his production and featuring a range of acapellas that were hitting around that time. The final result was this BLACKGOLD Afro Future Sessions mixtape, which was distributed through the Shaman Work label. Shouts out to both Wale and Chris Craft for this one.
